That being said, I also like to share books. A lot of my favorite books I would never have even heard of if not for a friend's recommendation or stumbling upon it accidentally. This saddens me. I think of all the poor books out there that go unnoticed and I weep for them. Yes, weep. Well maybe there are no actual tears, but you get my point.
So, I've decided on Thursdays I will share with you guys the last book I've purchased along with the reason why. And include 10 books that I've added to my enormous To-Be-Read list. If you guys want to join me each week, I'm going to include an area where you can link up below.
Okay now without further ado I give you my books:
Last Book Purchased:
Firelight, by Sophie Jordan
Synopsis from GoodReads:
A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
Okay, so why did I purchase this book?:
Firelight has been on my TBR list for a while now but with all the other books I have to read it wasn't a priority to acquire. That is until I saw that it was on sale for $1.99 on Nook. That's right, for the entire month of August you can download a Firelight e-book for $1.99.
The e-book also comes with bonus material in anticipation of the release of Firelight's sequel Vanish, which will be published on 9/6/11.
10 TBR Books:
1. The Girl in the Steel Corset, Kady Cross
2. Violet Midnight, Allie Burke
3. The Demon Trapper's Daughter, Jana Oliver
4. Across the Universe, Beth Revis
5. The Iron Witch, Karen Mahoney
6. The Gathering, Kelley Armstrong
7. An Apple for Zoe, Thomas Amo
8. Wildefire, Karsten Knight
9. Making Waves, Tawna Fenske
10. Ashfall, Mike Mullin

Great idea. I have an addiction as well (imagine that being said VERY dramatically). Oh, and Across the Universe was a good one because it's so different from everything else. I'm sure I'll be checking back to see what you thought of them (so I can add to my ridiculous TBR pile)
Kelley - Across the Universe is a book I've wanted to read for so long now, but things keep getting in the way. I have to make it a priority.
Awesome idea! Might have to join in!
Oh Mandie, please do. It'll be fun!!
