Since you all know how much I love The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard I'm going to do something a little different on this TBR Thursday. Instead of sharing my most recently purchased book I'm going to share something I discovered on Goodreads. It's not cheating because I assure you this book will be purchased as soon as it's released. Are you ready??!?

TBR Thursday {4} & Possess Giveaway

Welcome back for another weekly confession. This week I purchased just 1 book, well actually 4, but they are all the same book so I'm not sure if that counts as four. My pre-ordered copy of Possess by Gretchen McNeil appeared on my Nook at midnight on Tuesday and I picked up 3 hardcover copies -- 1 for me (I loved it that much), 1 for my sister Katie, and you guessed it, 1 to give away to a wonderful blog follower. Why Did I Purchase This Book?:

In case you failed to notice the countdown widget that was in the upper left hand side of my blog, I have been waiting for this book to come out for months. This is the book of the year for me. Demons? Teenage exorcist? What more could a girl ask for?

This book has been on my TBR list forever. Ever since the title was decided. I am a huge fan of Tawna Fenske's blog "Don't Pet Me, I'm Writing". If you haven't checked it out yet, you should. She's hilarious, so I had no doubt any book written by her would be equally as fun.

TBR Thursday {2} & The Secret Year Giveaway

Time for this week's Bookaholics Anonymous meeting. So hi, my name's Melanie and I'm addicted to books. This week I purchased 5 books. Yes 5, but I'm going to bury my shame and only tell you about the last one I picked up.

I've been wanting to read this book for some time now but haven't gotten around to it since it was not available on my Nook and required a trek to the Barnes & Noble in the suburbs. However, I recently made the trip and picked up not only a copy for myself but one for a lucky blog follower as well. (Giveaway details below) It's a beautiful book. The cover feels like satin. I looked like a freak rubbing it in the aisle at B&N, but once you touch it, you'll understand.

TBR Thursday {1}

I have a book-buying addiction. For some people it's alcohol. For others shoes. Okay, so I'm a little addicted to shoes as well, but mostly it's books. If there was an anonymous group for book buyers, I'd have to join. Especially now since it's become so easy to download books onto my Nook or I-Pad.

That being said, I also like to share books. A lot of my favorite books I would never have even heard of if not for a friend's recommendation or stumbling upon it accidentally. This saddens me. I think of all the poor books out there that go unnoticed and I weep for them. Yes, weep. Well maybe there are no actual tears, but you get my point.

So, I've decided on Thursdays I will share with you guys the last book I've purchased along with the reason why. And include 10 books that I've added to my enormous To-Be-Read list. If you guys want to join me each week, I'm going to include an area where you can link up below.

Okay, so why did I purchase this book?:

Firelight has been on my TBR list for a while now but with all the other books I have to read it wasn't a priority to acquire. That is until I saw that it was on sale for $1.99 on Nook. That's right, for the entire month of August you can download a Firelight e-book for $1.99.

The e-book also comes with bonus material in anticipation of the release of Firelight's sequel Vanish, which will be published on 9/6/11.
